Full Training Provided
No prior fire or EMS experience required. NMFA-certified training programs available for all new volunteers.

Team Environment
Training nights, community events, and the bond that comes from serving together make EFD more than just a department.
What Volunteers Do
Firefighters – Respond to fire calls, train regularly, maintain apparatus and equipment, participate in community events.
EMT and Medical Volunteers – Respond to medical emergencies, provide patient care, assist with transport. EMT certification support available.
Support Roles – Not ready for active response? Administrative, logistics, and community education roles are available.
Basic Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid New Mexico driver license
- Pass a background check
- Ability to commit to training and calls
- Live or work within reasonable response distance of Estancia
